there’s nothing more glamorous than old hollywood

I came across some pictures of a movie set and instantly fell in love. While the art deco style might seem a little over the top for some people’s taste, one can’t help but be inspired by the grandness in scale, bold geometry, beautiful wood detailing and lots and lots of silk.

I can’t get over that massive chevron-esque headboard. The diamond shaped bed covered in silk linens is also very glamorous. The ceiling height is incredible, and beautifully accentuated by those floor to ceiling draperies.

Notice the differences in scale of this space. I love love love the geometric patterned door!

 

and just for fun I included some pictures of actresses during the early years of the hollywood golden era:

I might not be old enough to recognize this actress but that wouldn’t stop me from stealing that metallic brocade coat of hers.. So so elegant!

I’m sure this was a look that was rather risque at the time but I love this fun and flirty dress
