There’s nothing better than being home for the holidays

While it has been slightly more hectic than it has been relaxing, I’ve truly enjoyed this break. So far I’ve worked, gone to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter AND Disney World (I love their Holiday decorations), taken down wall paper, made pillows, decorated the house for Christmas, and still had time to eat my weight in cookies…

But in the little down time I’ve had, I’ve made sure to make time to search for some Holiday inspiration. It’s not the most traditional of Holiday decorating but quite beautiful. It definitely makes me think of a woodland Christmas.

In the midst of exams it’s often quite easy to find myself distracted

Because seriously, what sounds more fun-Pretending I have a million dollars to spend on 1st Dibs OR Writing a Research paper?

so here’s to all of my wishful thinking that’s keeping me away from Twain and Pudd’nhead Wilson

If onlyI could live in a brownstone like this,

Whether it be in Brooklyn or Boston,I hope to one day to be lucky enough to live in a brownstone. I find them absolutely beautiful. I especially love the sense of history, old architectural detailing, the multitude of windows, and stately entrance.

with windows like this,

Found on AT, these lucky homeowners reside in a renovated Flemish chapel in Belgium and were able to salvage these incredible windows. Being someone who loves natural light and old European architecture, I could not think of anything more beautiful.

and an interior like this…

Here are the elements of a living room which I designed for a class in the ID department. I wanted to create a living environment that didn’t take itself too seriously and blended the best of mid-century modern, art deco, and industrial designs. My favorites include the Milo Baughman chairs and coffee table, the Rust colored mohair and mahogany sofa by Dunbar, and the Pair of Amber Rock Crystal Lamps. All pieces (with the exception of Mark Khaisman artwork, Behr paint sample, Anthropologie window treatments, and Oak flooring) were found on 1st Dibs.

Let me know if you have any questions regarding specific pieces!

Have a Wonderful Wednesday!
