Back in the U.S.S.R.

U.S.S.R & the C.C.C.P.

If any of you have picked up the May issue of Architectural Digest you know that it hast some incredible features this month.

One of my favorites was the highlight of Frédéric Chaubin’s new book, Cosmic Communist Constructions Photographed. Must be the Ukranian in me…

The architecture is absolutely unreal- I truly have never seen anything like it. The buildings seem like they would be more fit to be located on Mars than on planet Earth.

Holocaust Memorial

The Georgian Ministry of Highways

Dostoyevsky Theater of Dramatic Arts

The Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences

The Poplakov Cafe

Dombai Winter Sports Resort

The Palace of Ceremonies

The Chisinau Circus

So unlike the architecture here in the United States, but I guess that what makes it so interesting.

On another note, Sorry it’s been forever since my last post. These last couple of weeks have been rather hectic. I’m hoping though that with summer being around the corner I will be able to be blogging more often!
